Hosting a Bridal Shower in Lincoln Park
Spring has sprung, which means it’s bridal shower season in Chicago! Lettuce Entertain You’s newest event space, Stratford on the Park, has everything you need to throw the perfect shower!
After a cold Chicago winter, we are all wishing for some outdoor time and the ideal venue will have an outdoor patio. Our patio, planned for May 2018, will have stunning views of the Lincoln Park Conservatory and Lincoln Park Zoo. The space can host up to 100 guests for a standing reception or 50 for an intimate seated garden party. And most importantly, the main room of Stratford on the Park is an elegant rain plan.
Stratford’s indoor space boasts beautiful, neutral tones of light wood and sage. There is an incredibly cozy feel to the space and it can comfortably host 150 guests. Planning a smaller bridal shower? Use our floor to ceiling curtains to create smaller spaces for your intimate gathering.
Tips For Hosting Your Bridal or Baby Shower
Gone are the days of playing game after game and recording gift after gift. Learn more about hosting a modern bridal shower from our event planner, Natalie –
This year, bridal and baby showers will be more relaxed and fun. They will not follow a strict timeline and be more social. We will move away from stuffy, plated meals and towards themed “stationed” brunch or lunch. Popular themes include “Champagne Brunch” featuring a waffle bar, donut station and plenty of bubbly or “Backyard Bliss” with a traditional southern picnic of buttermilk fried chicken, sweet corn bread and fresh summer watermelon. Afternoon Tea is also coming back into style, complete with delectable finger sandwiches, petit fours and exotic teas.
Not only are bridal and baby showers becoming more relaxed, the guys are joining in on the fun too! Co-ed showers are popular this year, incorporating bourbon tastings and BBQs on the patio – because why should the bride get to have all of the fun?!
Color palates for spring are more beautiful than ever. Pink is making a comeback with soft blush and rose tones. Other color schemes include bright, bold colors of any kind, metallics, modern gradients, and of course, color of the year – Ultra Violet!
Finally, Balloons are back! Whether you are going for the large letters to spell out B-R-I-D-E or want giant shapes such as bottles of champagne or a diamond ring, it is a great alternative to floral and will save some money! We love Balloons By Tommy in Chicago for creative ideas and incorporating your theme.
