Tips For 2019 Weddings In Chicago
A few tips for your 2019 Chicago wedding by Special Events Manager Natalie Nerone.
Blushes are out, rich tones are in.
More couples are taking risks this season with bright, contrasting colors as opposed to classic white with blush accents. Do not be afraid to be bold! You can even incorporate all black linen for a 2019 wedding! We are seeing velvet linen for added texture, jewel and gold tones for accents, and antique centerpieces with mixed floral for décor.
Try truly unique stationary.
Custom illustrated menu cards, invitations and thank you cards are also a big trend this year. Couples are hiring professionals to create a custom design for their big day that features anything from a watercolor print of their venue to a picture of a beloved pet! Try some of our favorite artists like EVR Paper Co. or EJD Design.
Focus on a creative ceremony.
Unique, fun ceremony set-ups are a focus for 2019. Instead of the standard rows of chairs with a center aisle, couples are coming up with new and exciting ways to take the walk. Setting up the ceremony chairs “in the round” provides 360 degree views and ensure your guests a fantastic view from any seat. Gender norms are out for ceremony, and more couples are using Bridesmen and Groomsgirls as part of their special day!
Ditch the passed hors d’ oeuvres.
Grazing tables before or after the ceremony will be more popular in 2019, too. Couples are focusing on simpler, fresher ingredients displayed in a lush, full way. These colorful tables can be anything from a simple cheese and charcuterie to elaborate seafood towers, sushi stations and more.
Don’t lose focus on the traditional aspects.
There is still a nod to the past in 2019 weddings – it is not all new! Traditional details are still thriving through décor. Monogrammed or personalized napkins are once again gaining popularity. Couples are really looking for custom details and personal touches to each item in their venue. Crystal stemware and silver or gold candlesticks will be seen this year, as well.
Finally, large flower installations at the venue entrance and the ceremony alter will be seen. There will be a focus on beachy grasses, greenery and new, bold floral, but the concept is still the same as years past.
Happy wedding planning!
